I met the guy who owns/runs Insanepcs.com on my flight out of Kuwait. I didn' know they were ready for a sys admin at that kind of money? To me it sounded like he was just getting started.
Compared to the jobs i held back in the states. Except:
Materials take somewhere between 2-8 months to get here. Most of the management staff in any given department has any clue how to manage the department they are in. The allegations of fraud don't suprise me. You get fired for stupid things like having sex with another employee, even though the uppers hire women specifically because they look good.
And that's not including the ever-present threat of catching a mortar with your body(even tho that's a pretty low threat).
But i agree--by and large this isn't a bad job. (No sarcasm, i'm serious). I'm paid well, given a shitton of latitude to do what i want, and am respected as a god in most places. What more could an IT guy ask for? (servers, equipment, zip ties, scotchlocks, real tools, rights...)
