learn how to get from 
to
using Photoshop CS2, easy to translate.
1. do everything you do with your picture, i do crop and sometimes do some auto things. i dont usually do sharpening. so we have our bases now.
2. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue / Saturation. then set Saturation to +35.
3. okay so its too red? add a Selective Color layer.
red:
c: +40% m: -25% y: -23% b: +50%
neutrals:
c: +35% m: +25% y: 0% b: -20%
4. duplicate your base, snag it to the top, set it to Luminosity.
5. lastly, have a Color Balance layer.
midtones: +20/ +35/ +25
congrats! its now your icon, add something on it or just enjoy it!
