I'm kinda late with this but I gotta give respect to Shawn Johnson for taking the gold in the women's balance beam. That little girl hasn't even graduated high school and already has a gold medal. I'm sure we'll be seeing her for a few more years. I kind of feel better now that USA is winning golds in the all-around and individual gymnastics ( Read more... )

Oh no doubt it rocked, it would have been cool to take the gold for the women's team all-around but I think we made up for it by virtually dominating the individual events. But if I can remember correctly during the team all-around after the whole beam mishap, the announcers proclaimed that it was all gonna come down to the floor exercise to determine whether USA or China gets gold because the Romanians were more than 7 points behind China. With the notion of America still having a chance at gold on the floor exercises, Alicia was up first but she fell and stepped out of bounds twice. That right there secured China's gold medal, and I think either Nastia or Shawn may have added a few errors during the same event but hey... what's done is done. I have noticed they haven't taken away the gold medals of the Chinese team for having possibly two underage girls on the team ( ... )

Yeah I think that joke just went over my head...

Anyway, regarding that link.... THAT seems really fucking suspicious. If she WERE of age, I'm sure they wouldn't have yanked her passport info off the network like that. But she's not the only one, I think the other in question is Yang Yilin. Supposedly she's they're the same age.

On another note, NOW I'm pissed about U.S. track because this bitch JUST dropped the baton as I speak. What the fuck! That's twice now! Is it coated in Crisco or something?!?!
