Hey, maybe you can answer me an Ipod question! My boss is gonna pay me $1 a song to upload her music to her Ipod, crazy right? When you upload music to your computer from a CD, it automatically turns it into a WMA file, right? So do you need to convert it to MP3? Or will the Ipod software do it for you?
CDs rip onto the hard drive depending on what format in which you encode it, I prefer mp3 since it's more universal. If your music is in WMA format then iTunes will convert it to mp3 for you because iPods only accept mp3s and mp4 formats...... it takes all god damned day but it converts. I also rip MY music at a bitrate of 192kbps or better, this way there's less loss and distortion when you increase the volume... 128kbps is shit to me.
And I'll cut you a deal, if she wants to pay $1/song..... I'll let you borrow my hard drive which has over 50GBs (or over 12,500 songs) worth of music on it so she can download from that. And then we can split the profits and roll around naked in cash and blow our noses with Benjamins son!!! We'll be ballin' outta control!!!
i'm amazingly anal about my mp3s so i only have issues with a fwe things. plus most of my mp3s are cd rips or are missing their id3 tags. took me a while to get used to itunes and the ipod playlist, but can't go back now. welcome to the ipod world
I can be pretty meticulous too when it comes to my mp3s. Like I stated I only rip at a certain bitrate because I'm a "quality over quantity" type of person, I could give a shit how much space it takes as long as it's a good quality file.
I like iTunes' rip features but the only thing I hate is how they organize the library. If the song features another artist, they put the name of the featured artist IN the artist box.... not in the song box. Sort of like...
Kanye West feat. Paul Wall - "Drive Slow"... instead of... Kanye West - "Drive Slow feat. Paul Wall". The first one makes it harder to look for on the iPod.
And it is kinda tedious manually putting in the id3 tags if have music that was downloaded instead of ripped.
The current project is figuring out how I download porn flix to it.:P
