"Now, Alfons, do you remember what I told you?"

The hands on his shoulders felt comforting. Merely grazing over the barage of thoughts on the journey ahead caused the flock of butterflies within his stomach to beat their terribly beautiful wings in a flurry. He had to look past that, shake his head and smile (a nasty lump had decided to join the butterflies in their plans for Alfons-destruction).

"You're going to do fine, I know you will. That's why we offered this to you. You're strength will drag you right through these confusing and difficult times."

Difficult, right. The young German was about to embark on his journey to another country. It would be his first time leaving the country for any extended period of time. Ahead lay a year of experience that he couldn't have passed up, no matter how nervous the thought made him. He would do it with a smile on his face, all the while knowing that it was the best thing that could have ever possibly happened to him.

"Here's your ticket, dear boy." Alfons would be traveling to America by way of boat. Once he got there, some sort of someone was supposed to drop him off at an area near the causeway to the island. Walking. Great. "You have a safe voyage and make sure to send me some sort of something to show that you're safe once you arrive!"

Swallow the mess in his throat, block out the nervousness. This was a last goodbye with the person who had offered him this life-saving change. "T-thank you," his voice shook (he knew that this might be one of his last opportunities to ever have any sort of conversation in German for a long while), "I will, I promise."

The hands left his shoulders and he turned away, knowing that that was it. Turning back would be the worst mistake he could ever make. Though uncertainty lie ahead of him, Alfons was ready. Very ready.

The hard suitcase clutched against his chest was getting heavier by the moment. His other luggage had been taken... Somewhere. This he had managed to grab up and run off with before they could stop him.

Where was he supposed to go again? Oh no. With all the strange things he had already seen upon simply entering the town, the blond teenager's mind had been wiped clean. He was left wandering down Apocalypse Ave (at least it sounded familiar, or so he thought), hoping he wouldn't trip, half hoping that no one would come up to him directly and ask if he had lost his mind.

...Or something.

Alfons was there and all that mattered. The beginning to a new life, all laid out before him in the form of a town and a school. He was safe, nervous, ecstatic, fantastic, the list goes on and on.

There. He was there; Fandom High. Where was he supposed to go again? Oh no. With all the strange things he had already seen, things couldn't get much worse. Finding his way, in retrospect, was the least of his worries.

He would be just fine... For now.
