The in-game canon has one of the nine traditions being that of a brotherhood of martial artists called The Akashic Brotherhood. They hold the seat of Mind. If you have ever studied the Shao-Lin teachings you can see where the outlook of their monks can be applied. The mind is who you are, the body your vehicle. Needless to say when one of these mages is invovled in a chronicle there will be scenes reminiscent of movies like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon , Hero, and House of Flying Daggers.
