Now I understand the compulsion behind this whole blog/live journal thing. I scoffed at it up until now, but I've had my account for about 15 minutes, and I already felt a compulsion to put some words down on "paper", digital though it may be

Yes, it is very stream of conscious. That's why I usually write them out somewhere else first, then put them in after a little while. Gives me time to calm down if need be.
I mean, my children will, and DO read this...and so may yours some day.
Wait...that does NOT give you permission to breed! *laugh* Just kidding...you're going to make gorgeous kids, too.
