Not really helping combat that stereotype of football players as dickheads

So, apparently Texas Longhorn lineman Buck Burnette? Not so smart.

Buck's Facebook status following Barack Obama's winning the presidential election:

"all the hunters gather up, we have a nigger in the whitehouse"

He's been kicked off the team, and some people think he should have been given a break, considering that he 'apologized.' I have to say, I ( Read more... )

Apparently his strong Christian belief didn't extend to someone whose skin is a different color and who is probably 1000 times smarter than he is.

Maybe it's because I'm English and not American but the word Hunters angers me as much as the 'n' word.

Calling on people to hunt a human being *shudders*

Joke or not, that's like making a joke about sending Germans to deal with Jewish person who's pissed you off. It's offensive to Germans as much a Jews.

There are good people in Texas and they are tarred by the brush of morons like that.

Why do those twats not understand that they are the wrong colour for the land they live on too?

Yes! That is akin to what I was thinking. Across the land, you can hear the anguished cries of Texans, athletes and Christians alike: "Don't speak on my behalf!"

Trust me, there are plenty of us red-blooded Americans who dislike the word "Hunter" as well.

He apologized for using a racial slur, but didn't mention the call to assassinate someone. How big of him.

And here I was unhappy with my alma mater, Baylor, for students burning Obama posters and harassing the black students. Once again, our rival UT has trumped us. :P

LOL!

What I meant to say was 'Let us goodly citizens gather together to lynch the multiracial gentleman from Illinois'... Is that better?

Yes, that's the collegiate way.

Ugh, it's just so unthinkable to me that educated people, especially supposedly religious people, can be racist!

Just because he's in a college, I wouldn't exactly call him educated. But I hear what you're sayin.
