At least that's what I thought of him until I saw Stranger Than Fiction.

He plays Harold Crick, all-around lonely, repressed guy. Being an IRS agent, he obsessively counts things: the number of strokes he uses to brush his teeth,  the exact number of minutes in his coffee break, the number of steps

He was definitely not the draw when we rented it (Dustin Hoffman is hilarious even if he is going a warmed-over I Love Huckabees and Emma Thompson just enunciates so sexily) but we both were impressed with him in the end. Impressed enough to use his name in a post, yes!
