How did you hear about us?: I’ve had friends that have been in Sorting Hat in the past, and in searching for a place for Lauren, Sorting Hat kept popping up, and in the end, seems like the best fit.

Personality: Lauren is, in a nutshell, the epitome of the Deadpan Snarker. At least, outwardly. Her manner is straight-forward and frank, and she doesn’t pull any punches both verbally and physically. She’s perfectly willing to tell someone why they suck, including calling Rachel “boy-hips” during the first season and telling Santana point-blank that she’s a bitch. Her manner in general is a deadpan-almost-laidback, seeming to have a devil-may-care attitude in regards to what others might think of her. She dresses up as a goth at one point in the first season and, along with some others, attacks Jacob in order to get, in her words, “Robert Pattinson’s attention.” She also joins the wrestling team without a second thought to the social consequences (though her parents did have to sue the school to get her on the team.) Physically she’s the same, a self-proclaimed and Puck-acclaimed badass. She doesn’t go around the halls bullying people or attempting to prove that she is one, but if provoked, she has no problem throwing her weight

Personality, Cont.: Aside from that, Lauren shows herself to be pretty technology-savvy and quite good at espionage. During the first season, she is hired by Rachel to spy on the Glee club and figure out who is not “pulling their weight.” She is apparently president of the Audio/Visual club, and sets up nearly-invisible microphones in the choir room, listens to the recordings, and manipulates the frequencies on the tapes to figure out who is actually singing and who isn’t. She also has an incurable sweet-tooth, demanding most of the payments for her services in candy and muffins, be it rigging the choir room, being the needed 12th person for Glee Club, or being asked out on a date. Let it be noted that she is an angry drunk, and though she rarely smiles, she looks very pretty when she does. Lastly, she does push-ups to get psyched for a competition. How badass is that?

Canon Background: Lauren shows up in the first season sparingly as president of the Audio/Visual club, as part of Sue’s Old Maid’s Club, as a group of fans of Twilight

Background (AU!Canon; HP), cont: Then, at the age of 12, at the beginning of her second year at Hogwarts, Lauren’s hormones took a turn for the worse. Where she had once been your run of the mill average pre-teen, she now shot up above her peers in height and subsequently gained weight. As kids that age are wont to do in response to change, Lauren began to be teased and targeted for her height and weight. At first she ignored it, but there’s only so long ignoring can last for, especially with a strong personality like Lauren’s. So she fought back. First verbally, hurling intoned yet sarcastic insults back at her aggressors. However, as these things often do, the verbal insults escalated into violence. First it was only small things; a hex here or something in someone’s pumpkin juice. When the culprits were caught, they were given detention, including Lauren herself several times. But those hexes and pranks escalated even further into physical violence, at first just shoves and pushes which then lead up to Lauren full-out tackling a

How would your character fit in to each House?

Gryffindor: Lauren has more than her fair-share of courage, nerves, and bravery. She sticks up for herself in the face of adversity, and has no problem showing what she’s made of, even if the odds seem to be against her. It takes a whole lot of gumption to stand up to those that would want to bring you down because of your looks, and though Lauren’s way of facing that problem may not have been the best, it certainly took quite a bit of nerve. She also has no problem being who she is, as unique as she is, with her interests in wrestling and her physical features. She uses it more as a way to make herself stronger, both mentally and physically.

Hufflepuff: Lauren is a different girl. As stated before, she stands out in both her interests and physicality, and because of this, she is more tolerant of oddities in others. Though it should be noted that though she is tolerant of these oddities, she has no problem making a comment about them to the person point-blank if one of those oddities

Sample Interaction Post in Third Person:

Lauren enjoys wrestling. She enjoys getting into the ring, the sound of the bell, the adrenaline rush of the fight, of person against person (usually in her case, woman against man,) the thrill of needing to think on her feet, to figure out just how to get his feet out from under him, to make him surrender without incurring a foul, without breaking the rules. How can she manipulate both her own body and his to turn the tide in her favor using her own strength? Every match is different, and each match comes with its own challenge, its own heady rush when she realizes just how she can beat them, and the surge of adrenaline that pushes her to execute her plan that leads to her victory. There’s a satisfaction in the incredulous looks on their faces as she pins them, and the count starts, and watching them realizing their own defeat even as they struggle against her hold. “I lost to a girl?” They don’t have to say it, because Lauren can read it as plain as day on their faces, and it fills her
