The Worm King

The world was burning. It was then that The Worm King, whose name is known to few, stood upon the ancient Bridge of Valgard, which crossed the River Haleth, and closed his eyes. His dark army was upon the brink of defeat, and the battle standard of his enemy was raised high in triumph: a golden sun emblazoned upon a white sky ( Read more... )

Pretty sweet. How do learn spells? Do spells known come from levels? Can they be learned from research and study? Are there cantrips? If so, do the cantrips count as part of the final act deal? If Kael exists, how many spells does he know? Does a more powerful wizard have a more powerful(i.e. larger) radius of destruction when he pops?

You probably aren't going to answer me are you...

What I mean is, if there are folks beyond like level 20, could they just get soo powerful that they could kill every living thing on the planet or is there some limit that you will eventually hit? I guess that might depend on how large the world is. How large is the world? Can people get above 20? Do levels even go to 20? Why 20? Pick a different number. I think it should be 50. yeah, 50 should be like the D20 level 20. Just to make it really hard on you.

you are going to stick with 20 aren't you?

So, what are the forbidden arts? are they like level 9 spells? do spells have levels? do they go to 9? Is there a level 0? If so, are they cantrips? and if they are cantrips, are they really free? Because I think they should be. Are forbidden arts just like necro spells or just crazy super powerful spells that only like a couple of totally awesome guys know? What are wizards like? Meaning, are they subtle or flashy?

spells are learned by taking a special edge available to wizards called spellcasting, which allows for 5 spell picks. a wizard has to take this edge first, and the greatest among them can accumulate up to 6 in the span of his life, for a total of 30 spells (these being the known arcana).

certain spells have an advanced version - which requires an additional spell pick. once you see the system, it'll explain itself, but you'll find that in the AK2 Roleplaying Game Sourcebook.

Kael Braccus, being the archwizard of Roan and born of the ancient Sorcerer Kings, knows somewhere between 20 and 30 spells.

The Final Act ability is directly tied to both the number of known spells, and his level. So, a wizard of greater advancement will have a larger radius of destruction - though the damage caused will only increase if he earns more spell picks ( ... )
