BOOKS! BOOKS! I LOVE BOOKS!

I went shopping today. It was sort of a bust on the clothes front, but I'm going to do some catologue ordering this week. But I did go to Borders and after I bought a load of books, I saw the sign for Educators Discount Weekend on March 19th. Oh, well. Just another excuse. Yes, I have a Kindle, but sometimes you just need a book. There are a ( Read more... )

*blushes*

I hope you like The Penderwicks- if you do, don't forget about the sequel which I like even better than the first one (and I loved the first one)!

I just got The Graveyard Book from the library. I'm giving Gaiman another chance, because I liked Coraline a lot, not to mention it's the Newberry winner. (I don't think I've mentioned that my girls and I went and saw the movie- which they loved- then they both tore through the graphic novel version. Not surprising, but they loved it, too!)

I really enjoyed The Graveyard Book. It reminded me of HP in parts.

I still haven't read it yet, but I think I'm going to take it to school next week and read it during our Accelerated Reader period. If I don't read it this weekend.

I need to get the graphic novel of Coraline. It's educator's discount weekend and Borders Books! Woohoo!

Hi Moey -

We don't talk much, I know, but I wanted to support you in whatever fascination you have with the BDB. I became hooked on the book this winter and just can't get enough of them. The WARDen is coming to Louisville, KY in May and I'm driving up to see her. SOOOO excited!

And if you haven't read her little one shot called The Story Of Son, you really should give it a try. Michael isn't a brother exactly, but we've been told that he will eventually work his way into the Brotherhood plot. You can find it in the anthology labled Dead After Dark with Sherrilyn Kenyon as the lead author.

I just bought that anthology. I am going to read that and the story in the Guide this weekend. I'm glad someone else is into those books. I joined a group discussion on Good Reads, but I can't help comparing the level of discussion to old HP discussions. It's disappointing to say the least. If I say more I'll just sound really mean. :P

I agree that divinemum has great taste in books! :) And I loved The Penderwicks, too. SO charming. And yes yes yes, about the Moleskins. My 2009 couldn't start until I had my planner.

Randomly, I saw this post on the sugarquill community. I wasn't sure if you or anyone else wanted/could help her out...kind of random.

*hugs* How's the peanut?

I totally forgot to order the small calendar this year. I usually just end up doodling in it, but still. :(
