I'm so glad something is being done. Though, I agree about possibly filing a lawsuit. You should talk to a really good lawyer about your options, because it sounds to me like the cops are doing a piss poor job. If push comes to shove, you can always go to the media. That has good results sometimes, if you wanna make a huge fuss about things.

My dad suggested going to the city board/mayor about how bad a job the chief of police is doing. My aunt doesn't really want to do that, in case the police decide to turn around and cause us trouble as well somehow.
