Okay… so here’s the deal. My kids (students that I teach) live in a fairly rural town. Ten years ago, the population was around 10,000 people and almost everyone here farmed or had a relative that did… these kids live a rather closed-off life to the world around them (part of that is location, but it’s also a mentality in this area). I think that they need to identify personally with the broader world around them, so what I’m asking of each of you is this… can you guys randomly (about once a month or so) email my class? What I’ll then do, is read the email aloud, we’ll talk about what’s going on in your part of the world (example: Sue if in December you want to talk about your family’s Christmas vacation plans to go to the lake because of how hot it is in Zimbabwe in December, that would be a great topic for these guys because we’ll be under a lot of snow). Basically, we want to know about these topics ( ... )
