It's disgusting Jewish food that I always thought tasted pretty good. I don't seek it out or anything, but I do eat it everytime it's presented to me.

too bad my parents aren't still in the bay area or else you could try my mom's gefilte fish. not that i've tried it because i'm scared of the stuff in general, but i think the general comment from gefilte fish eaters similar to you is that this stuff is actually good.

One would hope so, but then again other gefilte fish eaters are probably also Jewish, which means they don't mind torturing themselves to some degree. Why else wear a wool suit in the middle of winter in a crowded, dark congregation for a 3 hour sermon? Who else would eat kugol? So they probably would say gefilte fish is good because in the realm of Jewish cuisine it is one of the "better" dishes which should tell you how much Jewish cuisine sucks. Just go to your local grocer sometime in the upcomming week and look at all the "delicious" Passover food and great selection of wine. :-)
