Christening

Niece is going to be Christened two weeks from tomorrow. Can not wait to see it. Unfortunately I'll have to rearrange my return flights from Italy to make it happen. I'm hoping it doesn't cost much to change my flight to one that goes to Houston instead of Dallas

Have you thought of going to cafepress and seeing if you can find any "My Aunt came to my Christening and all I got is this Lousy Onesie" -ish items. Other thought would be to go for something funny without having the relationship of "aunt" or "niece/nephew" on it.

It doesn't really have to have Aunt written on it. I just want something that in 15 years Lucy will look at and thing "My Aunt is f***ing cool." :)

I thought about picking up one of those handmade music boxes while in Italy, but I'm going to the Parma/Tuscany area, not the place that has well known music boxes. Chianti is well known from the area, but somehow I don't think a gift of wine for a Christening would go over well.

A cool toy from Italy I think would be appropriate - like a jester doll or tea set or something old-world-ish. At least, that's what I'd look for in Italy. Something you can't find here in the States that would be appropriate for a child - music box would be nice, but there's gotta be other stuff in the stores out there. :)

Rumors have started at work that I'm having an affair with 'boring guy.' Someone from another workgroup approached me last week and quietly told me that it's wrong to be with a married man. I'm sure they think I'm a complete bitch, especially since I busted out laughing. Have a basketball game this week with the guy that I think started the rumor. Am so going to knock him down.
