Happy Chentucky Fried Derby Day!

Fried chicken donut sandwiches are a total improvement on the donut burgers. Add a Horse's Neck cocktail, and that's the best 2nd lunch a girl could ask for! Zack's homemade thousand island dressing won over Kewpie mayo & mini dill pickles. Sugar donut wins 1st place with crumb donuts 2nd, & glazed in 3rd place.

You would have really liked the cocktail. Oh! The pineapple tequila is pretty fab. Make you a couple next week :)

I'm always a little skeptical of shaking carbonated beverages -- especially club soda, since the bubbles are the entire point.

Also, nice glasses.

Oh, I did the bourbon and ice in the shaker first and just tossed the club soda and ginger ale at the end.

I love glasses from holiday gift sets, that's the Finlandia on the left. The one on the right is a vintage Babycham glass that I got on eBay.

Nice. I also do the gift sets, but I haven't gotten around to buying any for three years running, and the glasses I've acquired have been lost to the ravages of time (code: I tend to drop things when I get drunk.)
