$200 jeans

So... I've always had problems finding jeans that fit me the way I want them to. I know this is a pretty common problem among women, so I never considered it a big deal. But have you heard of these jeans that supposedly fit like heaven? Citizens for Humanity, Seven, and True Religion sell for between $150 and $200 a pair, but they're supposedly ( Read more... )

i have a pair of Citizens. They're awesome, though you will have to have any pair of high-end jeans tailored for length. The prevailing theory is to buy them as tight as possible because they stretch.

Are they coming out with the Fall jeans already??

Hmm... I've heard the buy-them-tight theory, and I will probably follow suit. I figure since most jeans are either too long or too short on me, I'll have to have them tailored- but I heard that the place that sells Citizens here hems them with the original stitching for free. Not sure if it's true.
I'm not sure about the fall line, either- I'll probably go look at them sometime this week!

yes--even the place in the Bx. that I brought mine used the golden thread on the bottom to do the typical jean stitching.

i was also thinking about your post last night--what really tips the scale for me is that GAP and those places no longer sell jeans for $40 unless they are on a major sale. They're all about $68. So it's double the money for a glove-like fit.

Good luck shopping.

i've tried on expensive jeans, reallly cheap jeans and middle of the road varieties... i am also a fan of tjmax/marshalls type stores and i will share these findings:

best pair of basic jeans that are slightly low-rise without looking ridiculous: levis superlow bootcut juniors dept of strawbridges.

best ever pair of all purpose capris in darkwash denim: mossimo stretch capris from target.

each under 25 bucks. shazaam.

The capris from Target sound tempting. I have trouble finding denim capris that fit right and aren't too loose, too tight, and hit my calf at the right place. I'll check it out, thanks!

I wandered over here from Missy's....and I say try the jeans. I'm starting to learn the importance of clothes that fit well and are built to last. I bought a $60 pair of great-fitting DKNY jeans instead of the on-sale Old Navy jeans that fit like crap, and I'm soooo happy I did. True, $60 isn't $200, but if I didn't have a husband who would deter me, and if the $200 jeans were high quality and felt great, I'd do it! Just don't tell him I said that...
