Three of my 5 classes were like that this past semester and as much as I thought I would hate it I eventually preferred it. It's nice only having to go to a class once a week, especially if you hate it (I had one of those, and it was an elective too!). It's always the grad level classes that are like that because the professors have better things to do and can't make time two or more times a week to teach a class...

That and most graduate students are older and/or work during the day.
