I just made an honest to god effort to try and get through Stephanie Meyers' Twilight. Really. I did. I'll openly admit that I've never been *really* into reading fictional works (aside from some Murakami short stories), but you know what? When I get into a novel, I really get into it. I wonder if the French thought that their pop culture at the time was as avant garde as it feels like it is to me now.

I'm pretty sure the French feel their culture is/was/will always be one step ahead and one step above comprehensible.

I've been meaning to read Twilight forever. I tried reading the first one, but I stopped halfway through when I realized that it was pretty much going to be the same sickening "romance" for 3 more books, over and over. But I feel like I should read it before legitimately mocking it.

Twilight makes me want to cry at night. And I don't think I would hate it half as much if people didn't absolutely fall all over themselves about it, ugh.

I hope you get everything with school and Europe worked out. And I'm allllll with you on the losing of weight. I think I gained a million pounds this summer doing nothing but eating. :[
