Corsets for a cause!

Jun 01, 2009 17:32

In light of some really horrible things that have been happening in the lives of my chosen family and friends as of late, I've been feeling really ineffectual. In most of the cases, there's not squat that I can do to change circumstances for them. That said, I'm trying to do my best to assist where and when I can ( Read more... )

Actually, all of the models are quite cute (the pink-haired grrl is the seamstress).

Hey there, I can't express enough my thanks for linking to my journal entry. The only way this is going to work is if the word gets out to as many people as possible.

And thank you for your kind words about my work. I'm sure you understand the creative process. How one can work and work and work on a project, never quite certain if it is worthwhile. So any feedback at all, but positive comments especially, are so vital not just to one's ego but one's will to continue to create.

That written, I love your work!

I was going to post to moiracoon about how lovely your work is but since I see you here I can say it to you directly. And just did. ;-)

If I don't cut back on ice cream I will need a corset myself but failing that, I will encourage random strangers to indulge in their secret wish for a beautiful corset.

No problem! As I said, so many people are going through rough patches right now and this is one means to help out in a small way.

I *think* I'll be able to swing an order myself. I just sold off a few things (including a bodice that I was unlikely to ever wear), so I have a reserve that was earmarked for this weekend's Bead and Button Show. I'll still shop for arting supplies this weekend, but I don't need everything RIGHT NOW and I can pick up cards/websites for later shopping.

Hope this works! I was going to post a mention of this in a few communities too. =)

(Thank you for the compliment, too!)

Wow, those are pretty impressive.

Not that I think I'd fit, mind you. :)

But I shall pass it on to any interested parties!

*grins* I don't know...I think you'd look smashing in satin!

I've worn one once, as part of a significantly stranger outfit. I don't think anyone really noticed the corset. :)

Stranger outfit? *smirk* Considering HOW I know you, this does not come as a shock...

So pretty! I love how the backs are high--I hate when corsets cut too low on the back and give me back-boobs.

That's one hell of a deal, and I'd LOVE to order, but...well...I'm not sure how long I'd be able to wear it! I've dropped thirty pounds and expect more to follow.

Feel free to post in gothic_curves, if you haven't already. I'm not sure how much readership the community gets now that it's no longer public, but it can't hurt. And I assume there've been posts in all the corsetry-type communities?

Ugh...I hate having back cleavage due to ill-placed straps on bras or corset toplines. Few people have a self backfat fetish, though.

I posted in GC...thanks! It looks like she's getting a nice flow of interested folk. I am going to toss a mention out in a few more Victorian/Steampunk communities, too.
