You ought to give me wedding rings.

At this point I've built Writing A Wedding Post up in my head to such epic proportions that it seems impossible, so instead I'm just going to write about it for a little while until I get bored, and then maybe post more about it later ( Read more... )

Eeee, this looks fabulous! Love it. The details are so pretty. Great venue, lovely photos... I like the grey and yellow scheme! Plus I love your short dress (I will probably have a short dress too), and fuck yeah yellow shoes, they look badass. <3 We did a lot of wedding-related stuff this week so I am totally in the zone to appreciate this post.

Yay, so glad you liked! Doesn't wedding stuff become hilariously fascinating as soon as you're planning your own?

The dress was my aunt's, which she wore when she got married in 1962! I could write a whole post about it, haha. Hooray for short dresses, I think they're so fun.

A genuine vintage dress, that's awesome! My friend Virginia wore her grandmother's dress. So cool to be able to have that bit of personal history!

And yes, I'm totally obsessed with wedding details, so share away!

Awwwww, your title was my and hyounpark's first song (we're musicians! we sang a first song in harmony instead of doing a first dance, and man, how was that almost three years ago?). Second: hooray awesome weddings! Third: your menu is making me hungry. Fourth: Hooray new-to-me music, thank you!

Our own wedding ended up being such a crazy mix of people from various points in our lives; I remember being concerned how well everyone would mesh since no one friendsgroup was big enough for its own table, but it ended up working out really well, people making new friends across our various crowds (some of whom now see each other more often than H and I see them!).

Back to the food and drink: as somebody who is still suspicious of most beers (I love me a good lambic, but I'm also one of those uncultured people who loves the sweet stuff when it comes to alcohol anyway), what are the beers you suggested like? Do they go well with specific kinds of food?

Aw yay, I love that song! I think I have three different versions of it. I wanted to fit it in somehow, but it didn't work out. (Have you seen the Scrubs finale that uses the Peter Gabriel cover? Feeeelings ( ... )

My greatest regret about that day is that I never managed to get any horchata ice cream. WHYYYYYYYYY. (I mean, I'd had it beforehand, but still.)

Thanks!!

Wow I am obsessed with your wedding colors -- what a different choice, and all the yellow makes everything so pretty and bright!!! I love it!! And I have always felt the same way about eloping, but one of my (many) reasons has always been that it always seems to take so much money to have a beautiful, classy-looking wedding, but it sounds like you budgeted this one incredibly well, and everything came our GORGEOUS. Color me impressed. And then there's the ketubah! And the song choices! And the dancing! Sounds like an incredible day. You look lovely (yellow shoes!!!) and that last picture is stunning. Congratulations!!! (Man does this comment have enough exclamation points, because I probably even have more in me. !)

1. the epic, spontaneous, all hands on deck dance party to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes' Home that was the last song of the night

Seriously, words cannot describe how epic this was. It easily cracks the top five for "moments in my life that have most closely resembled the last scene in a movie."

2. I keep realizing that I forgot to tell you: I had so many delighted lulz when I saw the that the white wine was that gewürztraminer your brother recommended that you brought to Wretchgiving that one time which I have been purchasing at the co-op ever since.

3. Hahah, that group photo, I can't actually see my face but I can see my gigantic sun hat.

HAHAHA, that is how I'm going to describe it henceforth.

Yessss, that wine, lol, the more things change, the more I still have basically one wine I buy, ever. I had no idea I'd been so influential, awesome!

Yeah, next giant group photo we're getting bleachers or something. (The giant size version is fun, you can actually zoom in and find everyone, like a giant, awkward class photo.)

PS I suck, I've totally dropped the thread on email book club, I'LL PICK IT UP SOON, I swear.

PPS I'm so glad you were there for our heteronormative wrechtivities. <3 Unrelatedly, I've taught A to say "under the canon we had at the time," and it brings me endless delight and makes me think of you.
