Someone stole my bike tire. It's my own fault, kinda. I stopped using a cable on my tires a couple years ago and hadn't gotten around to changing it from a quick release wheel to the kind you have to stand on end to unlock. Sucks though. I feel like I've been hacked off at the knees. How do I get anywhere? The bus is going to take how long? I'm ( Read more... )

Ugh, boo. My bike is in a shed in the backyard. I keep telling myself I will BIKE TO SCHOOL, that I will be that kind of person, the kind of person who wants to BIKE TO SCHOOL. But every aspect intimidates me, including the complicated cable+lock+wrapping around the tires anti-theft situation.

Bike tire theft is probably a bit like Jumanji, and something bad will happen to the thief. Like a herd of elephants.

I know 100% what you mean because I have been you!! I started biking lots more once I stopped using a cable lock and was fine for years 'til now so heartily recommend it! Also biking when the weather is lovely because it's such a gateway drug.
