I had one of those surreal, self-aware how is this my life moments late Friday afternoon. Sitting outside in the mild sunshine on a tree-covered patio in the capital of Kosovo, having macchiatos with a coworker and our favorite counterpart in the government there, the one who gets all the work pawned off on him by his coworkers. Kosovo is known ( Read more... )

It's lovely to hear from you! You're always doing such interesting things. And congrats on the pregnancy! I'm six weeks away from my due date :)

Yes! I haven't been commenting but have been following your progress with great interest. Congrats on being so close to the finish line -- I'm just starting to feel a bunch of the third trimester things people complain about (being kicked in the bladder!), so you must be more than ready.

how exciting!!! congrats.
i kind of feel the same way about waiting to have kids until i have figured out the whole responsible adult thing, but seeing how that probably won't happen UNTIL i have a kid, i should probably quit waiting before it's too late!
hope things are all upward from here. i can't wait to hear more, as your accounts of all things are so interesting to read.

Thank you, that's so nice to hear! And haha maybe it's not a totally horrible thing that female fertility comes with a ticking clock, otherwise I could probably have put this off for a LONG time more, before realizing that Magical Adulthood Place probably doesn't exist.

I was so happy to see this post. I know that you've grown up and away from all of us who watched you hit adulthood and beyond, but I've never forgotten you and sometimes still wonder where you are and what you're doing. I guess a little of it is connected with you being the same age as my Aimee (who has been married now for 10 years and will be having her sixth baby at the end of August!)

It looks like you're content and successful, and that makes me happy and a little proud.

I'm so happy you're doing such an amazing job (as in, your career is great, and you're doing so great at it). Babies are easy and hard and luckily they don't care if you read instead of doing the dishes. (However, a dishwasher is a sound investment.)

Tell us more!
