A thought

It occurred to me today that some of us live the lives we do, because it's what we have coming to us. No more, no less, no reasonable explanation.

And when I think about all of this, everything, the sum total of my experiences with life to date.. I guess it makes sense, to me at least.

If you mean, what's coming to you, as in "I deserve this", then that's a great long philosophical debate that, to summarise, I don't agree with, but if you're saying that life is merely a series of events and should not be judged or skewed further then I sorta agree... and have some quotations for you.

"We live for a good time, not for a long time" -- Colin McRae
"Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid." -- Frank Zappa

I was thinking more the former, in terms of deserving, meh. Although I do also agree with the other idea, mainly that life is largely an irrelevant jaunty walk through space-time in the forward direction.

According to various theories (and also Red Dwarf), even the fact that it's a forward direction is yet to be resolved.

Karma runs very strongly along the threads of time.

I think it's more a case of Karma, and if you want more out of life, then you need to strive forward and spread good karma.

If you look at the world and her people darkly, that's all you will ever see, you can't affect what someone else sees or feels but you can change what your own eyes feel.
