The first play I ever wrote was when I was about 8. It was about a boy named Tim (after my brother) who lost his shoe. He went around trying to find it, meeting different people/animals that helped him along the way, and eventually found that a family of mice was using it as a house. Tim let them keep it. I spent a vacation from school writing out copies for all the parts, handing them out to different kids in the neighborhood so they could memorize their parts, and worked hard to create scenery and props for the play, but in the end, was let down that none of the other kids cared enough to memorize my play, so I gave up.
i cant remember if i minded or not. i dont think it was a big deal as my focal point was some other thing happening in the dreamscap, so i must not have minded too much.
