What song would you sing/whistle/hum when you're very happy -- especially if you're in love?

It's for a scene in my book. Right now i have the character humming "When I'm Sixty-Four" coz i wanted to reference a Beatles song. And that's a pretty cheerful song that everybody knows. Later on he hums "On the Sunny Side of the Street."

But i'm open to

hey, i was just listening to that song -- all is full of love, the version by death cab for cutie.

i don't think your choices are very upbeat, but they're beautiful songs. ;)

Hm. You know what, I remember back in college everytime I was in a fighting stance, this instrumental from the dark comedy Jawbreaker would start playing in my head; that song everytime the girls (Rose McGowan, Rebecca Gayheart) would start strutting on the corridor.

But that was not the song that would play in my head when I'm in-love. Hm, probably some sappy oldies song.

My best suggestion is "Close To You", why do birds suddenly appear/ every time you are near/ just like me/ they long to be/ close to yoooo.... Very nice oldie that's gone classic enough to be recognizable in writing, something you have to consider...

"When I'm Sixty-Four" sounds nice, also "Angel of the Morning", "Rush" or whistle the Malena churchy violin intro of "You're Still You". Then again, late nineties pop and r&b always have choice picks..."Heaven", "As Long As You Love Me", "Cupid", etc. If you've got a selective audience from fringe culture, then you can wink-wink nudge-nudge those "in the know" with stuff from Bjork, Lamb, Sigur Ros and Mogwai. Blah blah blah... ;)
