haha I don't know if I'll be able to go to school this year because I can't get any fucking loans. My credit's fine, but I have no income, so I need a cosigner. However, my cosigner is my mom, and her credit isn't good enough so everyone keeps denying the loan ( Read more... )

:( This is similar to the problem I had getting a place to live, because everyone does fucking credit checks now. Because you know people's ability to find somewhere to live is based on their credit history.

Luckily they let me slide, but they're not likely to do that for you considering it's loans and schooling. So much for helping people better their education and get better jobs, right? :|

Seriously. My family contribution score is 0. Nothing. They expect NOTHING to come from family, because I'm forced to file independent now. So what do they give me? $2500 a semester pell grant for a $9k a semester school.

Yeah. That'll totally cover everything I need. Thanks assholes.

When I was going through some stuff, it sucked because I *couldn't* file independent. They counted all my parents' income and wouldn't give me jack because they said my parents made too much money. I got barely a thin dime from my parents at the time. >| But they still counted! I was under 25 and didn't have my own kids and wasn't married, so in my state, that means I must still be under mommy and daddy's taxes.

I hate the government. Not to mention it took them almost 10 months just to get my loan status fixed. 8D;; Fuckbags.

ANYTHING I CAN DO TO CHEER YOU UP?

GOD THEY ARE SO FUCKING I don't even know. I AM a dependent, but NO, I HAVE to file independent because I'm going to be 24 by the end of the school year. THE FUCK IS THIS.

Nah s'cool. I could go rewatch Shitenmyu and lol at the fucking POINTY EYEBROWS OF DOOM that Tachibana and Akutsu have.

Seriously they scare me.

Do they have any work study programs or shit you could look into? I know right now I have a graduate assistant ship that is paying my tuition but they may have opportunities at your school for undergrads that could help you out.

I'd have had to have it offered to me after filing my FAFSA and, alas, I did not.

Yeah, that's right, at least from what I remember. Granted, this was um. 10 years ago. I've been out of college that long? Dear God.

Expected family contribution gets listed, and then they give you an arbitrary amount they expect to come from workstudy (IE, what you're allowed to make via workstudy, max), and then the other stuff (loans, grants, etc), right?

That sucks...no assistant type things available either I assume. I understand totally though, I'd be fucked if I didn't get this assistantship, which basically involved someone dying and me lying alot....heh...

Oh all righty then. Well that will be good for you too I think. Give you a new experience, right? And then hopefully things will be easier to manage when you are ready to go back. Do you have any ideas where you'll be working yet?
