So as some of you might have seen on Monica's journal, we got the house. Or at least, they liked nearly everything in our offer, then changed a thing or two for the counter offer, which we accepted. We are currently in the process of getting everyone to sign everything, so it's not 100% official, but it is close. Then the inspections and ( Read more... )

I'm crossing my fingers for you two. I'm still a little confused about the sellers raising their price on you - that really seems like an a$$hole move to me - but I'm vicariously excited about the house!

And Ariana will be able to run around soon enough! Brace yourself ;)

Well, we don't have a lot of money for closing costs, so we originally offered full price with the proviso they pay closing. That meant ~10k out of their pocket & bottom line. They came back with splitting the costs 50/50 by raising the price by $5000. Effectively, they still provide all the immediate closing cash, but we finance half of it into our mortgage. Kooky stuff.
