Let me begin by saying that I do understand why everyone is so upset...but only to an extent. The fact of the matter is that "The Woods" is one of the most money hungry institutions that I can think of. The standards can be raised and maybe someday they will, but you can't undo what's been done when it comes to allowing guys in. It's bad enough that SMWC has become what it has, let alone what it will be if men attend class.
Anyway, I don't think that we can change anything, but that's never stopped me before. So sign my petition dammit.

Not to say that I agree with a blatant disregard for tradition and a break from the “highly revered” mission statement, but if men in WED bring about a higher degree of education or simply more quality to the degrees being offered then I personally will not have much of a problem with it. However, I have to say that I do not believe that allowing men into WED will accomplish this. Perhaps, though, due to this, if hope allows the thought, alumni and even the general public will realize the level of disrepair the entire college has fallen into. Only with help from outside the inner sanctum (and this means alumni, not just current students) can anything change. The major problem with the school, as i see it, is not who they allow in, it is the lack of vision. No one in power has the ability to both see a problem and solve it. Simply pushing more money into a faulty system does not repair it. Rather, this only causes a waste of good resource and causes more scar tissue to block reform.
