Today Sarah talked to me about my voice. I do agree that it's God's gift, but I have no idea what to do with it. I can't sing worship songs, really, and honestly, I hate my voice. Let's just say I have a love-hate affair with singing. Sarah says to use it to glorify God. I don't know. How do I do that when I can't even (or rather don't like) ( Read more... )

I think you should stick with singing, but I don't know the whole story so I really can't say. I know very few people who are great at it (and even attempt singing) and it's really a beautiful thing <3

Oh and have fun in Korea!

Well I've always been interested in musicals and all, and when I was twelve, it was my dream career. Generally, Asian voices are not as strong as say Aborigine/Caucasian/African-American ones, and many Caucasians say that Asians have sweet voices but have no power/strength. I agree with that, and sadly, that's also why Asians aren't doing well in this industry. Many Asians thus turn to sing in their own language, like Vietnamese, Chinese etc. There hasn't been any popular Asian muscial/Broadway star after Lea Salonga. In other genres, there's little-known Coco Lee(who's American-born Chinese). Asians generally don't succeed in the English market. America still thinks of the Chinese/Asians as Kung Fu fighters or sword-wielding martial arts experts, so you generally see most Asians like Jackie Chan, Zhang Ziyi, Michelle Yeo in this area. It's probably due to the size of Asians too, though. (No racist remarks are intended, if any.)

(It's also been said that recent Broadway films are delivering fascist msgs haha.)

Thank you <3

*hugs* I am aware of some people complimenting my singing, that which I really appreciate but at the same time I know that I'm not that great actually. I get what you mean; I just want a change from choir when I move on to JC you know? I'm interested in canoeing but eh, I'll have to see whether I can even make the cut.
You have fun in Korea yeah? <333

Thank you <3

Yeah I'm interested in badminton and kayaking, but don't know if I can make the cut. It's time to move on, probably.
