Personality.
Morgan is a representation of the power Piper will come to possess. Instead of being a baby jaguar, much like Piper in her new role as the independent witch, leader and older sister, Morgan is what Piper will later become. Visible, a leader, dangerous, and at peace-somewhat-with who she is.
why the jaguar?
Easy: Piper has always been in the shadows of Prue and Phoebe. She’s the invisible sister; always taken for granted, her appointments aren’t important enough, and struggling to find who she is. The jaguar has such a vibrant coat that it’s impossible to miss it.
Jaguar is a Native American word meaning, “he who kills with one blow.” © Considering Piper’s offensive power-Molecular Combustion-this is quite literal for her. She can kill in one blow, particularly seen in later seasons where her power has grown (past her canon point of 3x22).
The animal is representative of: power, ferocity and valor. It is the embodiment of aggressiveness, which is Piper’s Molecular Combustion power. It also represents the power to face one’s fears, or to confront one’s enemies. This is particularly true to Piper-especially considering her canon point-as she has to deal with Bete Noire by herself, sans sisters, and overcome her dependency on Prue The Leader and become one herself. She also has to overcome her biggest fear, which is losing both her sisters, as she has no clue what has happened to them since she’s appeared.
The jaguar is the third biggest cat in the world. The jaguar was chosen as Piper is a Charmed One-three witches-and the jaguar is the third biggest in the world. Piper has always seen herself behind her two sisters-representing her perception of herself as the third “biggest” Charmed One in the lineup. The jaguar is well known for it’s immense power-another link to Piper’s powers, especially when combined, as Piper can quite possibly be invincible with the coordination of her Molecular Immobilisation and Molecular Combustion (and the Source even states that her powers were “impressive”. She was the first neutered of her powers) and agility is a supernatural enhancement the Charmed status gives her.
Piper pounces on her prey, rather than chasing them, something else she has in common with the jaguar. This is seen when she hides behind dumpsters or buildings, ready to “pounce” and use her powers.
The female jaguar prefers to do the parenting herself, which is true for season six-seven Piper, who is raising her two sons by herself while Leo is an Elder.

Morgan is named after Morgan Le Fay of Arthurian Legend. Morgan was the evil witch, the antagonist to King Arthur and Merlin. In the beginning of her Charmed life, Piper was worried that she was an evil witch, somewhat similar to Morgan Le Fay. Piper would discover, slowly, that she was the complete opposite.
