Went into Atlanta to see Jasper. We were really early because we decided to do other things. Magically got kind of lost, but kind of found the place while we were lost, but didn't know how to get to this place where we wanted to hang out until the thing. So I asked a lady in the Barnes and Noble, and that was really awkward.
Me: Hi. This is a random question, but I'm here to see Jasper Fforde, and obviously it's not that time yet, so yeah is Lenox Mall close?
Her: What's your definition of close?
Me: ........As in...near here?
Her: Yes it's like two to three miles away. Just keep right and you should hit it.
Me: Okay. Thanks.
DEFINITION OF CLOSE...Y'know THE USUAL DEFINITION. I mean...not RIGHT NEXT DOOR, but y'know are we on the complete wrong side of town???? etc etc.
Also. Hate. Atlanta. There's positives of course like The Bake Shop and their delicious pastries and tomato bisque. Yes. That was a positive.
It's a crazy crazy place. I always get lost. And the drivers are horrible.
So we found Lenox mall very easily. That was good. Watched my sister shop. not very fun.
Went back to Barnes and Noble. We arrived like 40 minutes before it was going to start. All the chairs were taken. So I had to stand near the back. Standing for two hours is not fun.
He was very entertaining and British and it was nice to hear his thoughts on things. I got the impression they were kind of surprised that so many people showed up. There were people who drove FOUR HOURS. Crazy.
Anyway. so line. Waited. Saw him. He said my handwriting was very neat. And I was like hahaha it's not not neat at all, I just made an effort so it would be easier to read. He nodded. Signed my book and stamped it. I got a button and a postcard. So yeah, that was kind of fun :D
