anyone have a power amp (min 100w per channel 8ohm) that they might consider lending/hiring me for 2-3 days? We've got our first show coming up this weekend, and the one we were supposed to be doing loud practices with died a sad death a week or so ago. I've been scouring cashies and trademe, but nothings come up within our frugal price range/ ( Read more... )

Do you want it for the show, or just for practice?

I may be able to help, need to check on the gear availabiltiy.

Also, if $65 per powered speaker (similar to JBL eons) is acceptable i know a guy who hires them for that.

Just for practice. Got a practice at my mates band room thursday and friday where we can crank the guitar amps. I'll keep the hireage in mind as well, thanks. Might be a bit steep for 2 days x 2 speakers. would be great if you had one for us to use. that'd be wicked. The show is at Bodgea this sat if you're interested,as well, This Theory of Static, Nullity (us) and Chris Matthews headlining (of headless chickens/childrens hour fame)

I may be able to get you 2X Mackie powered speakers, ie amps + speakers. There may be a small charge ($20?) or they may be free if i can swing it.

And yes, i am interested in coming for a while. What time are you guys on?

021 915676 - I can do $20 easy as, and can get you on the door at the gig. We'll be on at 9.20 or so. Craig likes to keep his gigs on time, so I wouldn't imagine it will be too much later than that, but when Chris Matthews is involved who knows, he's a bit random.

hey, yeah, they served their purpose, thanks heaps. I'm re-working my routing today to see if I can get them sounding better though, due to the small vocal PA being pawned a week before and noone knowing about it, I had to send just a single channel through to one of the mackies and vocals through the other. I'll take my interface/8ch-mixer tonight and use that as the front end for the mackies instead, as I was mismatching impedances and levels all over the place and it came out as a muddy mess, which wasn't good for timing :)
