[VOICE; ACCIDENTAL]
[Sound cuts in, maybe midway through the owner of a new journal saying something.]
-baki? ...No, this isn't...
...where is this? No, where the hell did you take me now! [he almost sounds desperate, his voice rising, both in panic and rage and acting as if he's talking to someone in particular.] He can't go by himself! Ragna

Jin is back in Luceti.
That's just grand. To be honest, Ragna didn't want to see Jin's face or get involved in anything that might be dangerous. And knowing Jin, it would only take a few days for something dangerous or stupid to happen. But ignoring him would only push that date a little closer, he would assume. Because keeping secrets from Jin has worked so well in the past.
Ragna sighs, it being audible over the journals. But he doesn't speak right away. He doesn't know what to say. Maybe his voice would calm him down, since he seemed so... is worried the right word? Hell, if Ragna's voice showing that he wasn't in any danger would do it, maybe he could calm Jin down himself.
Yeah. Ragna calm Jin down.] ... Jin.

Jin looks as if he wants to say something really really badly, but it will have to wait until he can actually make use of provoking a fight out of his older brother. It's just a little out of his "stupid ideas" range to further test the boundaries of Ragna's temper control without some type of weapon or defense of his own at this point.
So, instead, Jin just actually listens to Ragna for once, mouth closed, although he's staring up at his brother expectantly.
As you were saying..?]

Just... maybe Jin isn't as crazy as he used to be. Maybe Jin really conquered Yukianesa, like back home and the last time he was here. Could they get along again?
... Probably not. He's putting too much thought into this. He opens the journal again, to this page. Then holds it out to Jin.] The guide. Read it.

How is it possible to be completely at the mercy of this ... Organization? [Even the overbearing power of the NOL... it only took the man standing in front of him to start taking down branch by branch what was previously perceived as an absolute power after Ikaruga.]
No one that's been experimented on remembers where they've been taken?
Reply
He'll just try for a generalized answer.] They can do whatever they want to us here, and there's not a damn thing we can do about it. And last I checked, no one really remembers anything past getting taken and suddenly being back here.

Jin hands the journal back to Ragna, clearly irritated by his brother's confirmation that they were all, indeed, screwed over in some sort of limbo.
Just don't tell him you've been a victim, Ragna. He'll flip his shit if he finds out they experimented on you.]
I need to locate Yukianesa.

He takes the journal back, and packs it into his jacket.] You'll do just fine without it, Jin.

[He means the Malnosso, of course. The idea it would be randomly relocated to a local weapon shop here would blow his mind. He's still thinking on terms of it being stolen and that just strikes a nerve in the worst possible way.]

Like I said, you'll do fine without it. [He doesn't want to see Jin bend to Yukianesa's whims anymore. That thing was taking advantage of his little brother, and Ragna doesn't want to just stay sitting down for that kind of crap anymore. Even if it seemed he gained control of it for the brief time they were together against Kusanagi back home, it's better to take precautions.]

Both then and now are the closest to brotherly they've been in a long time as far as he knows and maybe Ragna's right. Maybe-
-No, he's not right at all. Jin can still hear her, hear her whispering just short of being able to actually understand her. She's too far, the link between him and that Nox Nyctores are weak both from distance and the situation back home. But he needs her, anyway, doesn't he? He needs her, she's the only one that understands, he doesn't want to follow her orders and her urges, but Yukianesa has always been his crutch and now what? To be left alone in this unfamiliar place without her isn't much comfort.
His brother being here helps, yes, but there's no way Ragna will let Jin follow him around and Ragna's wrong anyway, he's wrong about Yukianesa, no one understands and that's why ( ... )

Alright. Tell me the last thing you remember from back home.

Mmm...
[There's a pause, deciding how to best word this quickly and efficiently.]
I tried running after you to the roof of the Kagutsuchi NOL branch but was intercepted by a member of NOL's Zero Squadron.

A member of the Zero Squadron? Didn't he know someone that was actually a part of that? He can't ass himself to actually remember, because he doesn't give a damn. If he actually knew it was Tsubaki, he would just nod in agreement because it would make sense.] ... Tch. Further back than I thought.

[YEP, there you have it, right on the edge of still being Yukianesa's bitch and him managing to overcome her.]

...So, then, how far ahead are you?
