Even if it may be a bit tardy to ask, after observing one myself, is anyone aware of if these experiments offer any benefit whatsoever other than for people to make idiots of themselves?

[Seto's still been sulking, ever since he found some of the items from home, he's been deep in thought or just plain old depressed. It sucks to have those memories--their last memories--reattach themselves to his mind and never leave. Their faces and voices constantly playing back in his mind like a catchy song.

So as Jin is leaving one of the stores, the sad blob that is Seto will accidently be bumping into him, his head held low so he doesn't really realize who he just ran into] Sorry...

[He's good enough not drop the items he's holding when being bumped into, although it doesn't make the situation any less annoying to him. Honestly, this place was stupid enough, were people really so into themselves as well that they had to walk into others, as well?

The sorry isn't good enough for Jin, at least not at first, but he hears the familiarity so he moves his items to get a better look (looking down) to see Seto there. All bets of him bitching out some random person are off. Seto's different and ... Seto doesn't seem to be himself at this point in time, either.

Jin's voice is calm as he eyes the teenager, wondering how easy it will be to figure out what's wrong with him without actually having to ask.]

[It takes Seto a minute to register who this person is and when he does, he snaps out of his little daze and looks up at Jin with small, fake smile. Even though he is glad to see Jin (since it's been a while) he just can't bring himself to perk up like he always does. He flusters]

H-Hi Jin! I'm sorry I ran into you, I wasn't really watching where I was going...

Is something wrong?

[His voice doesn't sound very concerned, but then again it doesn't sound like there's much emotion there at all.

Jin doesn't take care to observe individuals much, so while Seto is unusual in the sense he receives attention from Jin, that also means Jin's taken the time to analyze him and his usual behavior.

This seems unusual, and that smile doesn't look quite right.]

[Shaking his head frantically]

N-No, I'm okay! Really... [His voice fades out and he brings his hands up to the locket around his neck, holding it as if it'll comfort him somehow. It does in a way, but not enough to wipe the voices and images out of his head. He takes a deep breath to calm himself before giving him another fake smile, let's try to focus the attention away from him]

H-How have you been doing? It's been a while since I last saw you.

[Jin just stares a moment before deciding to let it go. Seto seems to be one of those that will eventually tell if he sees a need for it.

And it's really none of Jin's business anyway. Shifting the hold of his items, Jin answers quietly.]

I'm fine. [As always, he wants to add but doesn't. He doesn't see a real reason to comment on not having been seen in a while since it's his player's fault fffff.

A small pause, just continuing to eye the boy.] You?

I'm glad. I've been doing all right. I learned a lot more about Japan! [And that itself has made him incredibly happy. It's always nice to know what his world was like before it ended up like it is now...

He pauses to take a moment and look over the items Jin is carrying] Do you need help with that?

[An "I'm fine" is his initial reaction, although he pauses before actually saying it. Looking down at Seto, he contemplates momentarily before replying.]

Do you want to help with it?

[Jin hands over one of the bags, careful not to just simply drop it on Seto. Once he's sure the other has a hold of it, he glances around the area, scanning to see if he needs anything else.]

Do you need anything?

[And Seto will carefully wrap both arms around the bag to make sure it's held securely. No bags will be dropped in this plaza! No sirree. But he shakes his head, grinning]

Nope! I got food just the other day.
