In The Beginning revisited
Ok, so I watched the episode again and made a few more observations without so much SQUEE! clouding my mind.
- Sam is still a naughty, sneaky boy. Shame, shame!
- This is the second time in three episodes that Dean has had to check a newspaper to find out when the heck he is.
- Castiel’s hair is lovely. All voluminous and a bit disheveled. Me likey.
- The car salesman said, “A nice young man like yourself” to John. Aww, he was a good boy.
- When John introduces himself to Dean, I can only imagine that what was going through Dean’s mind had to be something along the lines of “shit, shit, what do I say my name is?!”
- Mary can beat Dean up! Awesome! I think I love her.
- Aww, Grandpa and Dean smirk at each other across the dinner table.
-Haha, “John Winchester mixing it up with spirits, can you imagine?”
- Grandpa calls hunting the Family Business!
- When Dean tells them “this thing killed my family”, poor boy had no idea just how much of his family it kills.
-I love that Mary’s bedtime stories were about the Colt.
- “My dad could see the future.” Oh Dean, I love you.
- Mary’s description of John still really got me. “…still believes in happily ever after. He’s everything a hunter isn’t.” Man, that’s sad.
- Mary wanting to get out of hunting was also a cry-fest. And Sam took after his mom that way.
- Happily, though, it was also a cry-fest for Dean! Man tears!!
- Castiel: “Sam’s not looking for you.” Ouch! How much does Dean need to be hurt in this episode?
- I still don’t understand why Elkins didn’t shoot Dean or make more of an effort to stop him. IT’S THE COLT! THE ONLY THING KNOWN AT THAT TIME TO KILL DEMONS! How does he just let a stranger walk off with it?
- YED is kinda pervy. And seems to like sniffing people. Weird.
- Didn’t YED say “the red tape will drive you nuts” in another episode? Same old YED.
- Demon blood is what made Sammy a giant!
- After swearing she wanted out of hunting, Mary swore to God she’d kill the demon. That makes me think she didn’t completely give the life up. Though why she still got out of bed and interrupted him the night she died, I have no idea. Dean and the demon warned her not to and it’s not like she had any way to kill him then.
- INCEST! EWW!
- And Dean looked mighty pretty there at the very end.
