photographed a Jewish wedding on Sunday at Golden Gardens. the bride stepped outside after the ceremony to talk to some friends and these (what I will call) "tourists" walked up to her. the following statement came from one of the tourists' mouth: "Are you Jewish?" pause. breath. "Can I take a picture?" It was hilarious.

There's something beautiful about having decisions. I can't tell exactly what it is. But the interest and time spent considering my two (well three, I guess) options makes everything better. Weird.

So, not only is James an amazing boyfriend, he is also, just about, the coolest kid ever. And I don't just mean James is smart, smarter than all of us, which he is, I admit, but that's definitely not what makes him so great. I don't often find it necessary to brag about my friends, but seriously, he's paying attention to life.

So, this weekend I rediscovered the joy of concerts. I have been holding out on them all year, for financial reasons mostly, but also just because nothing has popped out at me. Today I listened to nine hours of the Velvet Underground. Felt very nice. To be in a house (ignoring the flooding and the mess) and cook my own meals and drink water that was cold.
