Finished OB last friday. Overall it was a good class and clinical. I enjoyed the baby part of it (of course!). I think that postpartum would be a really great place to work, although I think labor and delivery would be fun too

OMG... making fun of a patient when they either know that patient can hear them, or don't care if the patient hears them? They don't need to be nurses anymore. I'll be the first to admit teachers can slag on some students and their parents, but it's NEVER when kids are around. Which may not make it entirely OK. But we at least still have some consideration. (And I don't need to be in education myself).
i'm glad about your scholarship... i know what you mean about those nurses, though... you shoulda heard the ones that were there when i had miles... my poor mother-n-law knew i was ready to deliver, but the nurses just wouldn't listen to her. (i mean, she's had four kids. the woman knows.) they were so damn busy trying to stick a fetal monitor to his head (which was totally covered in hair, btw, so it wouldn't stick)... that they had to emergency call the doc to get him there on time. (he almost missed it, he got there for the last five minutes). and then they spent the rest of the night bitching about the fact that we watched an entire star trek marathon... :) serves them right!
