Things are going better with my clinical instructor, at least for me. She passed me on my ventilator performance exam even though there were a couple things I didn't know (given, they weren't things that I had been taught). Other folks are still having problems with her, but I'm managing fine. She stops by in the morning, quizzes me a bit, and then

Glad you're not having as many issues with Professorzilla. Yeesh.

I don't think I would ever want to be hooked to machines like that -- was he coherent and/or awake at all? I can't imagine.

Yay for your daddy! I know I was so excited to see my dad with someone (even though I know the circumstances are VERY different). It's nice to see someone you love happy like that. :}

Sadly, he was not coherent. He wasn't braindead, but very close to it. They were about to withdraw treatment when I left. He wasn't old either, just 51.

Yeah, I'm so glad my dad has been willing to try, and I'm even more excited that this time she seems to like him back! I'm grateful to my mom because apparently not long before she died she had made him promise to at least try to find someone else, he didn't want to agree to that, but she made him. I can't imagine how much guilt would be involved if she hadn't done that. I'm glad that none of us have to have any doubt about how she would feel about it.
