My Mom

My mom died four years ago tonight. I've been thinking about her, as I do every day, and I just wanted to give those of you who didn't get to meet her a chance to know her at least a little.

This is an entry that my brother recently found on my mom's best friend's blog. I think it is a good introduction to my mom.

She had the voice of an angel in life and now she has the voice of an angel in Heaven. I didn't know you guys had these recordings and I'm glad you shared them even if it does make me cry.

I can't believe it's been four years.

yeah, four years. Seems strange for it to have been that long. My mom made quite a few recordings and my dad has had them all these years. Michael spent a monumental amount of time taking them all putting them on the computer and cleaning up the sound quality. I'm so glad she made these recordings. They make me smile, or cry, depending on my mood. : )

I've heard so many things about your mom's voice but I'd never actually heard it before -- and I really don't have the words, Mollie, just tears streaming down my face...what beautiful memories these are.

Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed them. There's something so normal to me about hearing her singing. It's just right. Having these recordings is such a treasure to me. Plus, someday when I have kids they'll be able to know her voice too.
