It's been a while...so have some more of these!
There's a couple of prompts/ideas that I'm rather fond of in this batch.
Feel free to take any of these and run with it!
#51
-A highly advanced, purely telepathic species dominates the galaxy, and views all species that they cannot communicate with as pseudo-sentient animals, regardless of how much technology these other species possess
-They collect specimens of all kinds of creatures for scientific study and display in enormous zoos
-Even though Saiyans are very strong, very aggressive, and highly dangerous, they [The Masters] are fascinated by them and struggle to come up with a successful captive breeding program
-After Raditz is weaned and deemed to no longer be dependent on his mother, Gine is removed from Bardock’s troop to be introduced into another, but she is found to already be pregnant with a second child
-The stress of being parted from Bardock and Raditz, and being ripped away from all she knows to be thrown in with strangers, causes her to deliver early and she dies due to complications-living only long enough to name her second child “Kakarrot”
-None of the new Saiyans are interested in raising an orphaned newborn brat and leave Kakarrot to die
-The Masters try to foster the infant with other species that are similar to Saiyans (they don’t consider sending him back to his father since he wasn’t born into Bardock’s group; they believe he will be rejected there as he is here) with little success
-When a new batch of specimens from a newly discovered planet are brought into the facility, The Masters try one last time…and succeed when an elderly Son Gohan takes an interest in him, naming him Son Goku
#52
-Gine never attempts to be a warrior and goes into meat processing and distribution instead of a stint on Bardock’s purging team
-Vegeta-sei is attacked and the surviving Saiyans are scattered
-Bardock is injured and separated from his team, and falls into Gine’s care…
#53
-Saiyans aren’t indiscriminant planet-purgers allied with Frieza
-They only conquer planets that provide necessary resources and/or technology
-They mount expeditions to attack planets that might attack them, but do no more than trash their military and/or warriors
-Groups of young Saiyan warriors sometimes hire themselves out as mercenaries for the right price
#54
-DB characters are actors on a popular sci-fi/fantasy TV show
-Most are similar to their on-screen characters, but there are differences
-Goku isn’t as naïve/ridiculously-care-free
-Vegeta isn’t as much of a prideful jerk
-Chi-chi isn’t as uptight
-Launch doesn’t have a split personality, her real personality/appearance is closer to good!Launch-bad!Launch is the result of make-up/special effects
-Bulma doesn’t boast about being a genius all the time/isn’t quite as vain
-Master Roshi isn’t a huge pervert/dirty old man
-Turtle is an animatronic puppet, sometimes CGI
-Yamcha was never scared of girls and never dated Bulma outside of the show
-Raditz wasn’t evil and didn’t die
-Piccolo (Jr) never had designs on taking over the world/killing Goku
-Piccolo’s siblings weren’t evil
-King Piccolo isn’t a nice guy, but won’t take over the world
-Grandpa Gohan never was killed by a giant monkey like he was in the show
-Shenron/Porunga are special effects and can’t grant real wishes
-The Super Saiyan transformation is just special effects/CGI
-Frieza is a guy in an elaborate suit, sometimes with CGI
-The Flying Nimbus is special effects and none of the characters can actually fly/levitate
-Nail and “Kami” never actually fused into Piccolo, they still exist as individuals
-King Kai/North Kaiou is an actor in make-up
-However, some surprising things featured on the show are true…
-Piccolo and other Namekian characters are actual aliens/Namekians
-Tien actually has a third eye (he usually keeps it closed and under a hat off-set)
-Goku, Raditz, Vegeta, and other Saiyan characters are actual aliens/Saiyans
-Frieza’s actor is actually a Saiyan (Tarble?), which allows him to manipulate the suit’s tail with his own natural tail
-Saiyans actually transform into Oozaru during the full moon, but it isn’t as big as it’s depicted on-screen, it isn’t as hard to control it, and the change can be triggered at will with special training
-Chiaotzu is really that pale in real life, but his red cheeks are make-up
-All fighter characters are actual martial artists
-Ki, Ki-sensing, and a few Ki-involving techniques are real, but most of the big energy attacks are special effects
-Korin is actually a talking cat (Puar is his nephew), and Oolong is really a pig-their powers are special effects, though
-[Mr.] Hercule Satan (Mark) is a real pro-wrestler/fighter, and Videl really is his daughter
-Krillin and “18” really do marry and have a daughter
-Bulma’s on-screen parents are her real parents
-Goku and Chi-chi are actually married (although how they marry is much different from the show…Goku never mistakes a bride for food) and Gohan and Goten are their real children, and they also have a daughter who opts out of the show
-Vegeta does hook up with Bulma and has Trunks and Bulla/Bra, but they never marry
-“Future Trunks” is actually a cousin of Bulma’s (named Boxer) and not a Saiyan at all (and the real Trunks’ birth and appearance was luckily in line with his “future” counterpart)
-While no one turns a hair at the “animal” characters on the show (25-35% of the audience are “beast people”), very few people outside of the show realize that the alien characters are actual aliens
-The show was canceled a few times (which is why there are time-skips in DBZ), but was always brought back due its many loyal fans
-Many Saiyans work behind the scenes of the show, doing heavy-lifting and such
-Several Nameks are involved in writing/editing the show (Tights Briefs is the head writer)
-Gine is involved with catering
-Bardock manages special effects
-“King” Vegeta manages publicity/advertising
-There are various tie-in movies, often involving behind-the-scenes workers like Saiyans and Nameks (Lord Slug, Tree of Might, etc.)
#55
-When Kami dies, all his magic is undone-not only the dragonballs vanish, but every spell he ever did fails
-While Goku recuperates in the hospital after fighting Vegeta, his tail grows back, scaring (and confusing) the crap out of the hospital staff
-Since Goku now knows all of what his tail does, there’s no need to remove it
-Gohan’s tail grows back on Namek while fighting Ginyu Force/Frieza
-Vegeta’s tail grows back shortly before Frieza kills him
-Trunks and Goten never have their tails removed
#56
-Bardock’s ability to see visions of the future is genetic instead of a Kanassan curse
-He sees glimpses of the future and the distant past while he sleeps/heals in a tank
-He tries to ignore what he sees, but it subtly influences him to be a more decent Saiyan
-He has visions of Gine before he ever meets her
-His first vision happens around the age of 10
#57
-Saiyan breeding partners are determined by a council of Elders in order to breed superior offspring
-The Elites get the most consideration, but low-class Saiyans’ bloodlines are monitored, too
-Sometimes the King gets involved to reward or punish a particular Saiyan by matching them with a particular mate
-Punishment: weak cowardly mate of lower class
-Reward: powerful skilled mate of higher class
-King Vegeta finds Bardock to be threatening, being a very powerful low-class warrior and unusually popular among his peers
-The King finds an excuse to punish him and arranges for him to have a special mate: Gine, a weak and soft-hearted female that will surely bear him weak offspring
-Bardock is initially angry, but finds that she isn’t so bad…
#58
-The Saiyan Empire has ambitions to become greater than the Cold Empire or the United Galactic Kingdom
-To gain power and resources they make treaties with weak, non-space-faring races and conquer non-aligned space-traveling rivals
-As a special reward to Bardock, King Vegeta makes him ambassador to the newly-allied Earth and he and his squad are stationed there (it also gets Bardock away from Vegeta-sei where he is very popular and a potential threat to the king’s position)
-Raditz is a small child when Bardock becomes ambassador and Kakarrot is born on Earth
-Later, when Prince Vegeta becomes unruly, the king sends his elder son to Earth where he will hopefully learn to control himself better and not alienate his weak allies with shows of temper that might tempt them to break away/rebel
#59
-The Saiyan race is not united under a single king
-Instead, there are a few Saiyan kingdoms and various warlords
-(Bardock and Gine are from separate groups?)
#60
-Saiyans aren’t native to Planet Plant/Vegeta, but come from a world called Planet Saiya
-While some Saiyans flee (widespread disaster, alien invasion?) Planet Saiya, others remain on the homeworld
-The Saiyans that come to Planet Plant eventually take it over, rename it, and become planet-conquerors
-By accident, they stumble over Planet Saiya and the Saiyans that remained behind centuries ago
-The radically different versions of Saiyans clash
-(Bardock is a planet pirate and Gine is a Saiya citizen?)
