I have what seems like a million art projects from my nieces and nephews. I keep their stuff in manilla folders in the filing cabinet. I do not suggest doing that because everything yellows & crumples too easily.

I would suggest getting some acid free/archival boxes (like these:http://www.lightimpressionsdirect.com/item.action?itemGroupId=200) so that you can store things flat. Kids artwork degrades very quickly and will flake all over the place. Boxes are easy to store & organize. And their size (and expense) will make sure that you only choose the best stuff instead of saving everything.

lots of my photog friends online have taken pics of their favorite pieces of kids artwork... they then upload the pics into snapfish/shutterfly/etc and create books of them that way. i think it's a nifty thing to do and plan to do it for joey at the end of this school year. i want to do a book like this for each year of preschool/kindgergarten... but he's repeating group 1 this year so i want to wait till he's done w/ it again before creating a "group 1 book". ;o) i'm storing the artwork pieces in a rubbermaid thin bin right now... need to get archival boxes etc. but w/ 3 kids i'm going to have a lot of artwork to store. ;o)
