Just a test

A streak of luck at Mohegan Sun this past weekend enabled me to purchase a very sleek, very wonderful MacBook laptop and I discovered that there is a "widget" for the "dashboard" feature for LJ that allows me to write an entry and submit it to LJ without having to log into the site ( Read more... )

Excellent! We kind of had crappy seats (shunted way off to the extreme left of the stage and seated as far to the outer edge of the venue as possible...still, we had a good time. The group played a very good set.

In 1844, the Democrats were split
The three nominees for the presidential candidate
Were Martin Van Buren, a former president and an abolitionist
James Buchanan, a moderate
Louis Cass, a general and expansionist
From Nashville came a dark horse riding up
He was James K. Polk, Napoleon of the Stump

Austere, severe, he held few people dear
His oratory filled his foes with fear
The factions soon agreed
He's just the man we need
To bring about victory
Fulfill our manifest destiny
And annex the land the Mexicans command
And when the vote was cast the winner was
Mister James K. Polk, Napoleon of the Stump

In four short years he met his every goal
He seized the whole southwest from Mexico
Made sure the tarriffs fell
And made the English sell the Oregon territory
He built an independent treasury
Having done all this he sought no second term
But precious few have mourned the passing of
Mister James K. Polk, our eleventh president
Young Hickory, Napoleon of the Stump

Holy crap! The strangest thing just happened...

I replied to your comment from my email and hit submit and then tried to close out the new window that popped open indicating the comment had posted here at the entry and all of a sudden the window opened itself up a bazillion times faster than I could close it.....it was up over 40 windows open when I finally managed to shut down the computer and reboot. Yikes.

I was half expecting to come back to this entry and find 100+ "Me too" replies. LOL
