My first ever book signing!

What a great day!  Seriously!  Truly a highlight of the year for me!

I was up and out of the house early and on the way to Willow Books in Acton for the Diana Gabaldon book signing.  I got there around noon (two hours early) and the place was already really filling up!  We were only allowed to bring two outside books in for signing and I had three

There is definitely going to be one more book (possibly two). If you get a chance, read the companion book because it says a lot about how it started off as a 3-book contract because she kept feeling like there was more story to tell and she'd stop each book when she got to the point where she couldn't even lift the manuscript any longer. ;-)

I don't know if she'll be out your way. This book signing thing was pretty impromptu since it's rare that a book signing will be scheduled for a non-hardcover release of a book. It just so happened that she was "in the neighborhood" (i.e. Georgia, doing research on the Battle of Saratoga for the next book) and decided to hop up the coast a bit... ;-)

It was quite the thrill!

I've been looking for it, but my bookstores havent been carrying it.
I guess i'll have to do the amazon route.

p.s. i am working on your package, and trying to think of some music to send you. have you heard any damien rice?

I had to order the OUtlandish Companion from Amazon too...not many stores carry it because it is a large hardcover book. But it is definitely worth it.

If you check out her website too you'll find that she has 4 podcasts for download (free)!!

And no, I haven't heard any Damien Rice. :-) You have great taste in music so I'm excited to be exposed to some new stuff. :-) Any Ani you want to throw my way would be cool too...I have 32 Flavors, Overlap, Shy, and Talk To Me Now. :-)
