I hate winter, too. A couple weeks ago it got down to -40 C here. And all the snow, blagh. Yet, people still ask me if I live in an igloo when I tell them where I'm from. Sigh.
"people still ask me if I live in an igloo when I tell them where I'm from"
Do you play along and mess with them?? When I was in high school, I had the absolute BEST time at a national FFA convention, convincing these gullible boys from New York that we not only didn't have electricity or running water, but were in constant danger of raids and scalping. Of course I'm aghast at such behavior now - Shame on me! But it was fun at the time... ;)
We had an exchange student from Germany live with us when I was in high school in Kansas. One of the high school students asked her if they had electricity where she came from...
I went to LA last April and managed to convince two boys that my friend and I lived in an igloo and had an internet connection in it. I think they started to suspect something when we started going on about the amazing new technology of VCR's that we had just gotten. I figure it was their own fault for being ignorant =D
Congrats on the empty folder - you will say if you want mine to empty as well, now you're on a roll, won't you? ;) Although I did shift quite a lot myself yesterday so it must have been Backlog Day. And it's such a nice feeling when they're gone.
Brr, that is cold. Considering it's mild here today, and I still went out with gloves on being a delicate, feeble, feel-the-cold type person, I reckon I'd need about twenty pairs to be where you are. How long and thick is Flash's coat?
Feeble? Somehow that's not an adjective I'd ever associated with you. Hmm. ;)
You can't tell Flash is even a pony anymore. He just looks like a furry, four-legged hairball. He only comes out of his little insulated house to eat and potty. I've never seen a horse do that before, but he is very particular about his bathroom habits. He never 'goes' inside his house.
Poor Flash. The husband has called the vet about getting him fixed. They don't want to do it until spring, so he's got a reprieve for awhile...

I've been like a jelly since I laughed so long and so hard when kerrymdb revealed she once asked you if I'd only got one leg because of Gil. It was just brilliant, though I'm a little surprised you didn't take the opportunity to say I'd got three.

No! Oh, poor Flash. This is going to give the centaurs nightmares. And it's certainly not fair to do it in those temperatures. I hope you've told the husband that all those wonderful bathroom habits may go to pot (what a star he is to never need mucking out - I'm still talking about Flash btw;)) with the shock. Also that gelded ponies, like elephants, never forget...
LOL, I probably ought to post the backstory behind that somewhere. I wonder how many others out there are thinking I'm a cold, heartless bitch, writing about a poor one-legged pole-dancing stripper in a less-than-politically-correct manner. Basing her on a real, live person would be the icing on the lawsuit.
I'm hoping the husband reconsiders the gelding idea. Or just forgets. Mostly because the surgery will cost nearly as much as we paid for the pony in the first place. Maybe I just need to tell Flash that this male dominance behavior must stop. Perhaps he'll be more reasonable than the husband... ;)
Yes! It does feel good to have it empty. It would feel better to get rid of a lot of the regular clutter around here, but if I want to stay on top of the virtual stuff, I guess the rest of it has to stay. ;)
Today it warmed up to 14, but with the windchill and blowing snow, it's still too ugly to spend any time outside! And the rest of the week is just going to get colder. Ugh!

Wow, that is really cold! It's about the same over here in Chicago except without that much snow. I wish we had more snow!
