Oh, I hope you have fun in Ireland. We went there a couple of years ago - Dublin and then some places in Donnegal, and it was fabulous :D. If you do go to Dublin, you have to go to the Guiness Museum, because 1) it's a lot more interesting than you think it's going to be, 2) they give you a free pint, and 3) the top floor is mostly walled by glass, so you get a wonderful paneramic view of the city. Onto the glass they've drawn arrows of where all the cool writers lived, and there are some quotes from their books that pertain to particular places dotted about. It's amazingly cool (although that may have been the free pint talking, lol).
Thanks for the advice! We'll be staying in Dublin for the most part, so I'll have to make sure we go visit the museum. I've never tasted Guinness, so that sounds like something we definitely should do while we're there. :)
Did you etch your name on that glass wall of cool writers, pointing to your hotel, saying "Lady Bracknell was HERE!"?
I know, I know, I'm LJ negligent. I'm hoping things improve a bit in a couple weeks. The mom whose baby I watch nights and weekends is switching to day shift now, so that'll shorten my days a little. I hope. I'm really not looking forward to school being out for summer. Nine kids all day...
I'll take some shots of myself post-Guinness. They'll probably look like the shots you sent me off your camera phone after one of the Bar Nine write-ins. ;)
I don't know what level of Hell you're in, but we just got two feet of snow here last weekend. :P
draped all over DH? That wasn't your dh. I'd have to drape myself over the bartender...and the server...and the doorman...and some random stranger...and perhaps a visiting nun... ;)
Things are good with me. :) I'm still really enjoying college. Actually, everyone thinks that students are cramming like crazy for finals but in my case, and the case of most of my friends, we've got some pretty easy finals. I've only got History of Music, Theology & Communications so I'm not too worried. Thanks so much for asking though!
I've never been to Ireland, but I've heard only good, fun things and a free pint of Guinness is definitely not to be missed, lol. Definitely calls for a picspam.
Hope you get the passport soon as I wrote you a really nice ref. Possibly shouldn't have mentioned house elf slash in the 'Hobbies' column, but I honestly didn't think they'd mind... ;)
Yeah, you wouldn't think "house-elf slash" would translate to "international terrorism" but I suppose they are pretty wary of little personality quirks like that. Especially when they find stuff like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patasola in my browsing history...
Post-Guinness picspam would most likely be reminiscent of Winky after the butterbeer episode, but I'll do what I can.
What did dh end up bringing you for your anniversary? I hope it's a pony! ;)
LOL. Surely a one-legged, man-eating, seductive terrorist is considered less of a threat than normal? It can't be that easy for you to get away, especially if stairs are involved...
No eternity ring, so we've saved some money we haven't got, but I did get flowers and he bought 'Enchanted' to watch in the evening, which I think I can honestly say would not be his first choice for an evening movie. (Though he got very excited when he spotted the bloke who plays Cyclops in the X-Men films singing in it.) We also spent several hours of the day in one of my favourite stores, which has everything beautiful and expensive for your home, so a good time was had by all.
