The X-Files S11 died as it lived:
Making sure that we know that the most important thing about Scully is her womb. I'm not sure why anyone involved thought that making a 54 year old Scully pregnant with Mulder's child was the best way to end her arc (and let's keep in mind that at one time, her ova were in his freezer, so the science here is...iffy), but sure. Let's go with that. Mulder will be nearly 80 when the kid graduates from high school, so I hope he makes it until then! Also, as I said on Twitter, the way she spent the entirety of both revival seasons obsessing over William's safety, only to shrug off his (supposed) death with "oh well, he was a lab experiment, who cares, I'm pregnant with your real kid now," was whiplash-inducing and a disservice to her character.
There was actually a lot that I liked about S11, including the maturing of the Mulder/Scully romance, but this really, really needs to be the end, I think. Gillian Anderson says that she's done, and I don't even understand what the point of returning without her would be.
Other things I am watching: Brooklyn 99, The Middle, iZombie, blackish, UnReal (sort of; sometimes I get fed up with how awful everyone is), We the People (new Shonda Rhimes lawyer show), Jessica Jones S2 (slooooowly), and Jane the Virgin, which is a delight. Oh, and I watched the first episode of Rise, aka Gritty!Glee, aka that show in which Ted Mosby is now a pretentious high school teacher instead of being a pretentious architect.
