I've finished most of the first batch and I'm still working on a couple, but I want MORE!

I want to write a poem for you, like you give me a:
-sentence
-quote
-picture
-idea
-color
-event
-memory, etc.

and I'll respond with a ***poem***.

So! post! Get a poem!

Heaven for Adam

Adam says heaven, for him,
would be complete immersion
in letter, to imbed himself
in the makings of the ‘h,’ to feel
the elegance of the ‘e,’ the sensuality
of the ‘a,’ the terseness of the ‘v,’ to
flip for the ‘n.’ His heaven is simple,

attainable. I would wish for abundance,
not one pithy word, but words,
words I could bathe in,
clothe myself in, cover myself in
like a child making a tent fort. I would
wish to be subsumed, but
he would choose to rest

in the crook, the bend, the semi-circle.
Perhaps that’s why he’s an actor,
to learn to become
without bringing along yourself,
to rest within boundaries, to become
that which you are not. I think he will
get his heaven, master it even.

He has practiced a long time learning
when I have just begun to edit.

Adoration, Supplication and Petition. 3 of the 5 forms of prayer that predate known religion.

The night is too far spent,
twilight raking indecisively,
to give anything but a supplication,

to compromise with you,
my God, for whom I ache
for in this bitterness.

I yearn for your fleshless
affections, for your spirited
soulful touch to ease my pain.

Remember your loyal servants,
who chip like dogs at a bone
while life beats us raw.
