Streete's introduction obviously covers the basis for the entire argument of her book.

She first establishes Israel's changing view of adultery. First, adultery is seen as a familial problem, but also a violation of the covenant between God and Israel.

First, it's funny, but the description of Jewish people as "xenophobic" just really cements the type of feeling I've had about many that I met, but I never thought to put it like that. I knew the word, I knew the experience, but never made the connection. Huh.

Secondly, I like the vocabulary, because now I have a new word for how I view Catholicism/Christianity/organized religion in general (in that I'm an apostate).

Interesting choice, and although Biblical stuff ties my stomach in knots, sounds like it will continue to pique interest. More importantly, it's something I'd never read but it's nice to know about =)
